Somatic (Body Based) Trauma Resolution, Mindful Acceptance, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
“The thing that breaks your heart is the very thing you were born to help heal." - Glennon Doyle
Introverts, Empaths, anyone who feels Different... you are welcome and accepted here! I have a gentle style of therapy that is person-centered and strengths-based, drawing from the modalities of EMDR, Somatic Processing, CBT, and Hypnotherapy. My passion is helping clients learn to listen to their true selves and follow an internal treatment plan as opposed to externally imposed expectations. Often that may include finding healing through various forms of spirituality and energetic connections. I tend to do things “a little differently,” diving deep instead of staying on the surface in order to facilitate lasting change. My specialty is helping clients to rebuild self-worth, trust, and secure attachment after experiences of childhood trauma/neglect or religious/institutional abuse. Over time this allows them to embrace their inner aptitudes and core healthy identities, learning to identify, accept, and heal parts of themselves that are struggling.
Professionally speaking, I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with over a decade’s worth of experience supporting youth, families, and adults. Some of my past work has been within systems of child welfare, foster care, juvenile justice, schools, community mental health, and developmental disabilities. I have also been fortunate to join the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the Colorado Legislature in writing and passing several laws regarding children’s mental health. Finally, I had the honor of collaborating with spiritual teacher Andy Brine in editing the Soul Pathway Oracle Cards.
I am grateful for the therapists/mentors who help me on this path of lifetime growth and learning, and it is my deep honor to also come beside others who are struggling. It is no small feat to break generational cycles of abuse and trauma. Sacrifices are made as we bravely forge ahead, often without a map, blindly trusting that we can make our futures different from our pasts. It can be tremendously helpful to lean into the strength, connection, guidance, and nonjudgmental support of someone who has been there before. Whether you’re ready to begin the journey or have been traveling for some time, let’s go together for a little while. You never have to do this alone.
